This is a catch-all, catch up post #3 to describe all the planning & preparation that's gone into getting prepared for the Camino. It's hard to believe that I'm starting my journey 1-week from today, when I hop on a plane for Paris on April 4th! Since I've done the hard work to be prepared, I'm ready to go and can't wait for my adventure to begin!
Above is an example of what I've been doing over the past year to get ready for my Camino journey. I've explored many different areas to hike, and have found an incredible amount of hidden gems in and around the Twin Cities area, as well as other areas in/out of the country! This particular hike is one that is 5 minutes from our condo, at Lone Oak Park in Hopkins. They have some beautiful trails through the woods, and the many hills are great for elevation training! On this particular day, I snowshoed 6 miles in 2 hours.
Over the past year, my daily walks/hikes have averaged 6 miles. On my Camino, I'll be hiking on average almost 13 miles per day, so it will definitely be a challenge; but one that I think I'm ready for!
