It's almost 11am, and thought I'd do a quick post on today's activities....
The plan is to check out of my hotel at 11am (but leave my luggage at the hotel), then explore Biarritz until I get in a cab to the train station to head to my Camino starting point, St Jean Pied-de-Port.
I had a great night's sleep after my long journey to get here, and the morning couldn't have started any better. I made my way to the local market square where they had a wonderful mix of coffee, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, meats, flowers, etc. It wasn't very crowded when I got there, but it was packed by the time I left. I sat down at one of the many counters and had an incredible breakfast called "Galettes", essentially a crepe with ham, cheese and egg, along with an espresso and fresh squeezed orange juice. Recall that my previous post expressed difficulty with the language. Not so much at this place. The proprietor was a very nice woman who could speak fairly good English, so navigating the menu wasn't difficult. Now I'm back at my hotel, ready to check out, and explore. Here's a few quick pics from my morning adventure....
